Design Task - Individual Development Plan
According to a Swedish Initiative, teachers are responsible for maintaining an individual development plan (Individuella utvecklingsplanner - IUP) for each pupil. Within the Umeå Municipality, there is currently discussion and evaluation of the current products offered to support IUPs (software). IUPs are intended to facilitate the communication between teachers, parents and pupils to improve the education of children. However, there has been little discussion whether the current IUPs are designed to include cultural particulars of non-Swedish parents. Aside from some of the more general questions about how teachers can store and share different types of student material (i.e. art and math exercises) in order to assess their development in collaboration with parents and pupils, what types of interaction can better invite valuable participation from parents from Swedish and non-Swedish traditions in collaborative assessment of their children's learning?
